Captain Marvel of the Marvel comics is MCU’s answer to DC’s Wonder Woman, a female heroine who has super strength, superhuman endurance, flight, and could shoot energy beams with her fists. The identity beneath her superhero persona is Carol Danvers, a US Air-force officer who got her powers from an explosion of a Kree (alien) Device, which made her resurface as the super powered hero.
One of the most notable appearances on TV by Captain Marvel is in the X-Men animated series season 2 episode 9. The episode gave us a glimpse of how Rogue (of the X-Men) acquired her super strength and flight. Apparently, she went “Rogue” on Captain Marvel and stole the powers from her, including her identity. The most recent appearance of Captain Marvel is in Civil War 2 graphic novel, where she is one of the main protagonists.
The casting for the role is finally concluded, the newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Superhero line up is no other than Captain Marvel, and will be played by Oscar winner Brie Larson. After months of rumors, the cat is finally out of the bag!
